Job summary

Sequoia Living, Inc. is seeking an Activities Coordinator to plan, organize and implement programs that enrich the social, emotional, physical and spiritual development of residents in our community.

You will collaborate with staff to meet diverse needs and ensure a positive resident experience. The role requires a background in recreation or related fields, and experience with aging populations is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year recent experience in social or recreational program.
• Completion of or ability to complete ARF Activities Leadership Training course approved by the state of California within one (1) year and all other requirements under Federal and State laws for the position.
• Experience in aging or related services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads simple group activities to meet residents' needs, interests and abilities, in groups or individually.
• Assists in procuring materials and supplies and maintains inventory.
• Prepares and posts a monthly calendar of activities and communicates with residents and families.
• Assists with assessments, records, plans, reports and evaluations of the program.
• Assists with setup/breakdown of furniture and equipment for activities.
• Decorates areas for holidays and diverse groups.
• Provides reminders to residents and assists with marketing activities.
• Assists with scheduling locations and transportation for outings.
• Coordinates with volunteers, vendors and CNAs as directed.
• Recognizes and reports concerns about residents' status to management.
