Job summary

MediLodge of Traverse City is seeking a Life Enrichment Director to design and implement activity programs that meet the holistic needs of a diverse resident population. The role emphasizes assessment-driven planning and collaboration with care teams.

Responsibilities include comprehensive resident assessments, budget management, and leadership of activities staff within a long-term care setting, ensuring engaging, meaningful activities daily.

Qualifications

• BS in Recreation Therapy or equivalent in human services with relevant experience preferred.
• Certification as Activity Director or OTA certification is advantageous.
• Experience developing activity programs for residents in long-term care settings.
• Ability to work under supervision within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive assessment for each resident to determine level of abilities and interests.
• Develops an individualized program of activity pursuits meaningful to the resident.
• Completes MDS, RAPS timely using observation and assessment tools.
• Documents resident response to care plans and evaluates activity care plans for effectiveness.
• Develops and maintains a budget to support equipment and supplies for activity programs.
• Collaborates with rehabilitation and social services to align activities with care plans.
• Supervises Resident Activity Assistants and coordinates off-site activities when appropriate.
