Job summary

Brookestone Acres in Columbus, Nebraska, seeks a Life Enrichment Assistant to plan and lead group programming and provide individualized activities that improve residents’ quality of life.

You will support therapeutic activities, document progress, and collaborate with a dedicated care team to create a positive, engaging environment for seniors. A CNA license is preferred, and a valid driver’s license enables transportation when needed.

Professional Qualifications:

Verbal communication skills are important to carry on conversations with residents, team members and visitors in an understandable manner. Written communication is also important for necessary documentation. Life Enrichment Assistants are willing to participate in educational sessions, in-service training, and demonstrations. Be able to drive and transport residents with company vehicle.

• Basic knowledge of computers and iPads including Microsoft Word, Excel, and video calls
• The ability to be flexible and adapt to changes in daily scheduling to meet the needs of residents, call-ins or vacation time
• A positive outlook focusing on teamwork, integrity and collaborating with all departments and a 'Yes I Can' attitude.
• Current CNA license or willingness to obtain
• Clean driving record- being able to transport residents in facility vehicle.

Physical Requirements:

• pass a physical exam
• lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, etc.
• lift a maximum of fifty (50) pounds occasionally.
• lift twenty-five (25) pounds consistently.
• be able to move and stretch in such a way as to be able to reach areas above their head and below their waist.
• go up and down stairs
• bend, stoop and twist almost constantly throughout the day.
• see and hear well enough to answer phones, greet people and read
• remain active and on their feet for up to four (4) hours at a time.
• be able to drive a vehicle.

This is a full time (35 hour) position whose schedule includes every other weekend and every third holiday. Pay is dependent upon experience
