Job summary

Brooke Grove Retirement Village, part of Brooke Grove Foundation, is seeking an Activities Assistant for the Life Enrichment program. The role runs full time during the day (8:30am - 4:30pm) in Olney, MD, with a pay rate up to $19.50/hour.

Responsibilities include coordinating events, assisting residents, and driving for outings. Requirements include a Life Enrichment certificate or 3–6 months of related experience, a valid driver’s license, and CPR preferred.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Life Enrichment program or related training/experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Current CPR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows up quickly on resident requests or needs.
• Answers the phone with a smile.
• Arranges chairs, tables and supplies for Life Enrichment events.
• Notifies residents of schedules and events; encourages participation.
• Leads groups, clubs and events as assigned by Life Enrichment Director.
• Conducts one-to-one visits with residents as needed.
• Operates audiovisual equipment and monitors engagement during programs.
• Drives bus to transport residents to trips and outings; ensures safety.

Requirements of an Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment Assistant:

• Certificate in Life Enrichment program; or three to six month\'s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a valid driver\'s license.
• Current CPR preferred.

Responsibilities of an Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment Assistant:

• Follows up quickly on resident requests or needs.
• Answers the phone with a smile, knowing that a smile can be "heard" on the phone.
• Arranges chairs, tables, or necessary supplies in designated rooms or other areas for scheduled Life Enrichment engagements and events such as parties, exercise, discussion groups, games, or movies.
• Notifies residents of schedules and events; encourages residents to attend planned Life Enrichment programs.
• Leads groups, clubs, and events as assigned by Life Enrichment Director, and in accordance with programming and residents\' needs.
• Conducts one-to-one visits with residents in accordance with programming and residents\' needs.
• Operates audiovisual and other similar equipment, and monitors engagement of residents during programs.
• Drives bus to transport residents to and from recreational trips, tours, and outings; complies with local traffic and safety regulations.
• Assists residents in and out of buses during recreational outings, and follows safety practices during all activity.
