Job summary

Primrose Retirement Communities in Wasilla, AK is hiring a Life Enrichment Assistant to plan and execute group and individual recreation programs that meet residents' social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs. You will interact proactively with residents and encourage participation in community events.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, plus experience with seniors is preferred; activity certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; certification preferred.
• Minimum one year working with seniors preferred but considered with prior experience.
• Excellent English communication, both written and spoken; strong organizational skills.
• Ability to engage residents and speak effectively to groups.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and executing life enrichment programs to meet residents' social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs.
• Encourage participation in activities and coordinate monthly special events.
• Organize local outings and decorate for events; recruit and manage volunteers.
• Distribute schedules and maintain resident engagement.

Primrose Retirement Communities is hiring for a Life Enrichment Assistant toberesponsible forassisting with the planning and execution of individual and group recreation programs that serve to meet the social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of Primrose residents. The Life Enrichment Assistant proactively interacts with residents and encourages participation in community events

More about the position requirements:

• Help with executing a creative and exciting life enrichment program to meet the needs, interests, and health of our residents.
• Tasks included, but are not limited to:
• Encourages resident participation with all activities.
• Coordinates monthly special events at the community.
• Assists with organizing outings within the local city or town.
• Decorates the facility for special occasions and events.
• Find volunteers and maintain the resident volunteer program.
• Distributes monthly life enrichment schedules to residents and posts them in the community for easy reference by residents.
• Acknowledges residents’ birthdays, anniversaries, and special accomplishments.

What we're looking for:

• High School diploma or equivalent is required. Activity Certification is preferred.
• Minimum of one year working with senior population preferred but will consider previous experiences.
• Excellent Communication (oral and written) in English, organizational and time management skills
• Ability to speak effectively to groups of residents, associates of organizations or outside professionals.
• Basic typing skills, along with basic knowledge of computer Microsoft Software (i.e., Publisher, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Able to drive residents to outside activities in Primrose Van.
• Enjoys working with and building rapport with seniors.
