Job summary

CIEL VERNON HILLS LLC in Vernon Hills, IL seeks a Life Enrichment Assistant to develop and coordinate activity programs for residents, reflecting diverse interests and promoting meaningful, life-enriching experiences.

You will recruit and train volunteers, schedule daily and monthly activities, organize events, manage supplies within budget, arrange transportation for outings, and collaborate with staff to enhance residents’ comfort, happiness, and engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in creating and coordinating activities for older adults.
• Ability to supervise, lead, and motivate people.
• Able to delegate responsibility while maintaining oversight of daily activities and major projects.
• Experience in volunteer recruitment and training preferred.
• Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed/scheduled.
• Knowledge of requirements for providing care and supervision to the elderly.
• Must have strong understanding of the English language sufficient to read, write and interpret administrative information.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with others.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers.
• Attend trainings via LMS and keep up to date.
• Create daily/monthly activity calendars reflecting residents' interests.
• Coordinate and host events, including decorating for holidays.
• Arrange transportation for outings and ensure necessary supplies.
• Provide opportunities for residents to engage in community centers and service projects.
• Communicate with department supervisors about programs and upcoming events.
• Maintain equipment for activities within budget.
