Job summary

AEye, Inc. in Pleasanton, CA seeks a hands-on Sr. Manufacturing Test Engineer to lead calibration and end-of-line test operations for LiDAR products in a production environment.

You will support production test stations, troubleshoot issues, and partner with CM/EMS providers to enable high-volume manufacturing. This execution-focused role requires 8+ years in manufacturing/test, strong data analysis, and the ability to work across cross-functional teams while lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Optical/Physics/Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 8+ years in manufacturing, production test, or test engineering, ideally in optics or complex hardware.
• Hands-on with automated test systems, lab instrumentation, and production fixturing.
• Experience using data analysis to improve yield, reliability, and test performance.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and support worldwide CM/EMS partners.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Own and support calibration and end-of-line (EOL) test processes for LiDAR systems.
• Set up, validate, maintain, and improve production test stations and fixtures.
• Execute test and calibration procedures during NPI, pilot builds, and volume production.
• Troubleshoot test failures and drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Partner with CM/EMS providers and cross-functional teams to ensure readiness.
• Drive yield improvement, test robustness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain test documentation, work instructions, and engineering change records.
• Participate in DFT/DFM reviews to improve manufacturability and test coverage.
