Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) is seeking a LiDAR Technician I to join our Atlanta team. You will process geospatial data daily, classify LiDAR point clouds, and help compile mapping features from LiDAR and orthophotography to support national utilities projects.

As part of SAM, you’ll work with industry‑leading tools and grow your geospatial career while contributing to accurate deliverables and efficient project workflows across multiple offices.

Qualifications

  • Eagerness to grow in geospatial career.

  • Proficiency with MS Office and general computer skills.
  • Experience with LiDAR data is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Daily processing of geospatial data and ensuring accuracy.
  • Classify LiDAR point clouds.
  • Compile features from LiDAR and orthophotography.
  • Support related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

At SAM, you’ll play a key role in transforming LiDAR and imagery into precise mapping deliverables that power tomorrow’s infrastructure. You'll support utilities projects across the country and gain hands‑on experience with industry‑leading tools while learning from experts who are invested in your growth. Key Responsibilities

  • Daily processing of geospatial data, including evaluating accuracy and sufficiency, and ensuring compliance to applicable project and industry standards related to aerial mapping products
  • Classification of LiDAR point clouds
  • Compilation of mapping features from LiDAR point clouds
  • Compilationof mapping features from orthophotography
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Eagerness to advance and grow in a geospatial career and a strong commitment to making significant contributions to the team
  • Strong work ethic, demonstrated integrity, and personal accountability for contributing to the team's success
  • Excellent computer and technical skills, including MS Office Suite
  • Microstation and TerraSolid experience is highly preferred
  • Strong listening, writing and verbal communication skill
  • Experience with any of the following is preferred:
    • CAD
    • GIS
    • Orthophotography
    • LiDAR Point Clouds (highly preferred)
    • LiDAR Classification (highly preferred)
    • Mapping from LiDAR or Imagery (highly preferred)
