Job summary

Roboticsconnected is seeking a Systems Engineer, LiDAR Characterization, to work hands-on with our 4D LiDAR sensors. You will run tests in the lab and in the field, characterizing performance across scenarios and debugging system-level issues.

You will collaborate with optics, firmware, hardware, and algorithms teams to build a full understanding of the sensor from photonics to point cloud, and contribute to calibration and data analysis using Python or MATLAB.

Qualifications

• MS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics/Photonics or related field.
• Hands-on lab experience with sensors, optical systems or electronic test equipment.
• Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for data analysis; foundation in signal processing or optics.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run tests on LiDAR sensors in lab and on vehicles for comprehensive characterization.
• Develop automation software to accelerate lab testing and data collection.
• Support field data collection across real-world scenarios; prepare sensors and test setups and log conditions.
• Investigate system-level issues: reproduce problem, collect diagnostic data, work with engineering teams to identify root cause.
• Help develop, run, and verify sensor calibration procedures.
• Analyze sensor data with Python or MATLAB and document results for the Systems team.
