Job summary

Phoenix LiDAR Systems in Austin, TX seeks a LiDAR Field Technician I to support field data acquisition as a working crew member under supervision, completing initial qualification on aircraft and sensor systems, and ensuring data is collected safely and on schedule.

You will serve as Observer/Sensor Operator, perform pre/post flight checks, prepare equipment, manage LiPo batteries, maintain records, and follow safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum HS diploma or GED.
• 0–2 years in field data collection or related tech.
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate or ability to obtain within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Observer/Sensor Operator on field ops per Remote Pilot in Command.
• Complete initial qualification on aircraft and sensors and maintain flight currency.
• Prepare, stage, assemble, and teardown aircraft, LiDAR sensors, base stations, and equipment.
• Perform pre-flight and post-flight checks; manage LiPo batteries.
• Retrieve data, perform quality checks, and upload datasets.
• Maintain records and follow safety/regulatory requirements.
