Job summary

Bowman Consulting in Austin, TX is seeking a LiDAR Technician III to join our team. You will process complex LiDAR data, perform QA/QC, and support project leadership while mentoring junior staff.

The role requires advanced LiDAR processing skills, strong knowledge of geospatial standards, and experience with MicroStation, TerraScan, TerraModeler, and PLS-CADD. Local travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of LiDAR processing experience.
• Advanced proficiency in MicroStation CONNECT, TerraScan and TerraModeler; intermediate in PLS-CADD.
• Strong understanding of coordinate systems and geospatial standards.
• Experience mentoring staff and reviewing technical work.
• Experience with scripting, automation, Python, or VBA preferred.
• Utility, transmission, or large-scale infrastructure project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process complex LiDAR datasets and troubleshoot technical challenges.
• Perform advanced classification, feature extraction, and surface modeling.
• Conduct comprehensive QA/QC reviews and ensure client specifications are met.
• Develop technical documentation and best practices.
