Job summary

Bowman is seeking a LiDAR Technician II in Austin, TX to perform LiDAR processing and geospatial production with limited supervision. You will classify features, extract data, and contribute to project delivery while upholding production standards.

Responsibilities include processing LiDAR datasets, conducting QA/QC, integrating data into CAD workflows, mentoring junior techs, and maintaining thorough project documentation. Collaboration with project managers is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree or technical coursework preferred.
• Three or more (3+) years of LiDAR processing or geospatial production experience.
• Intermediate proficiency with MicroStation CONNECT, TerraScan, and TerraModeler.
• Understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and geospatial data standards.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience with scripting, automation, Python, or VBA preferred.
• Experience with utility or transportation projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage LiDAR datasets for a variety of project types.
• Perform point cloud classification and feature extraction with minimal supervision.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews and resolve data quality issues.
• Utilize MicroStation, TerraScan, TerraModeler, Global Mapper, and related software.
• Prepare deliverables for utility, transportation, municipal, and infrastructure projects.
• Support integration of LiDAR datasets into various CAD and engineering workflows.
• Maintain project documentation and processing records.
