Job Description

Job Title: LiDAR Analyst II

Classification: Full Time Salary, Exempt

Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 + Bonus eligibility and Benefits

Reports to: Data Production Manager

Date: 05-01-2025

Summary:

The LiDAR Analyst II will support the development of Phoenix LiDAR Systems through analysis and processing of remotely sensed data from various sensor types. This role requires an understanding of LiDAR system components, their data streams, and their applications in geospatial products. The analyst will collaborate with software development, production, and sales teams, guiding hardware and software decisions, and supporting client needs. They must employ rigorous methodologies, maintain documentation, and work independently on critical tasks to deliver actionable, well-researched results.

Essential Functions:
  • Calibrate integrated LiDAR systems and perform quality control
  • Identify data issues, troubleshoot, and determine root causes
  • Generate data products according to end user specifications
  • Maintain expertise in GNSS/IMU trajectory processing
  • Produce detailed reports from data analysis
  • Evaluate and develop workflows for LiDAR and Photogrammetry software
  • Conduct technical training for clients
  • Develop and follow data quality standards
  • Document software workflows
  • Understand industry needs and advocate for clients

Supervisory responsibilities: N/A

Work Environment: Primarily in office/remote setting

Physical Demands: Extended periods of sitting or standing and computer use

Position Type and Schedule: Full-time, On-Site/Remote, 9:00am-6:00pm CST, Monday - Friday

Required Travel: 10-15%, fluctuating based on demand

Requirements
  • Oversee and advise on mapping project planning
  • Train and present to diverse clients
  • Understand processes across different applications and platforms
  • Intermediate proficiency in Google Workspace
  • Effective communication with supervisors, peers, and clients
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently or in a team

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in LiDAR, Geospatial data processing, Geodetics, or similar
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Geoscience, Geography, Engineering, or related field

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 7+ years’ experience
  • Experience with small entrepreneurial companies
