Job summary

The Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing (DIAL) is seeking a Licensing Specialist to join the Professional Licensing Division at our Des Moines central office. Responsibilities include processing licensure applications, reviewing credentials, handling fees, and supporting boards with documentation.

Qualified candidates will have experience in administrative support, licensing or credentialing, excellent communication, and the ability to interpret complex rules, while

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time work experience in general office, clerical, data entry/processing, or related work.
• Two years of education and/or full-time experience with college coursework equivalence.
• Current experience in the state executive branch including specific administrative support roles.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate licensure applications and determine eligibility using licensing software.
• Review academic transcripts, test scores, and credentials.
• Process licensure fees and issue licenses/certificates; maintain records.
• Prepare applications for Board review per policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
