Job summary

State of Washington, Department of Licensing in Kennewick, WA is seeking a Licensing Services Representative (LSR2) to provide exceptional customer service, verify documents, process licenses and ID cards, and help ensure public safety. This in-person, non-permanent role requires travel to other offices, adherence to policies, and training that leads to certification with a ~10% pay increase.

You will handle fee collection and final reviews of enhanced licenses.

Qualifications

• Two years of direct customer service experience serving the public.
• One year of experience using electronic systems and form templates to input data.
• Valid WA driver license with five years of driving experience.
• Typing speed of 30 wpm or greater.
• US Citizenship or eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Verify authenticity of documents, evaluate information, and make sound decisions to issue licenses/identification cards/instruction permits and perform licensing functions.
• Perform final review of enhanced driver license or identity card applications.
• Collect licensing fees.
• Approve or deny (pending) enhanced applications and issue EDL/EID to eligible applicants.
• Use sound judgement to assess customer qualifications for licensing issuance.
• Travel to other offices and participate in training; overnight stays may be required.
• Conduct driving skills tests while riding in the applicant’s vehicle.
