Job summary

State of Oklahoma is seeking a Driver’s License Examiner I to conduct interviews, administer vision, written, and road tests, and issue or deny driving privileges and state IDs in designated districts. The role requires knowledge of state and federal licensing laws and provides opportunities to train lower-level staff.

Work may involve flexible scheduling, potential overtime, and a storefront environment. Candidates should be prepared to maintain records securely and support program compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in any field or four years of technical clerical office work or equivalent.
• CCKE certification required for Level II.
• Experience with driver license processes and related testing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants to determine license or identification needs.
• Explain disqualifying issues and related procedures to applicants.
• Evaluate medical, physical or mental information per state/federal standards.
• Conduct vehicle safety inspections and administer tests as appropriate.
• Maintain driver’s license records with confidentiality and security.
• Assist Legal Division with evidence gathering in case of fraud.
