Job summary

X-energy is seeking Licensing Engineers to join its expanding reactor licensing team in Rockville, MD. You will help develop licensing content, interact with the NRC on regulatory matters, and coordinate with engineering, program management, supply chain, and procurement to advance licensing activities for advanced reactor projects.

The role covers safety analysis, regulatory compliance, and planning for licensing strategies, with opportunities to contribute to first-of-a-kind reactor licensing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Experience in direct NRC interactions (written and/or verbal).
• Understanding of the nuclear regulatory processes in the United States.
• Experience in project management related to developing schedules and coordinating team activities to produce technical content for regulatory purposes.

Responsibilities

• Support portions of licensing activities (certifications, permits, approvals, and licenses) and meet milestones with the U.S. NRC.
• Provide licensing support to engineers developing technical requirements for NRC compliance.
• Support scope development of the annual regulatory engagement plan and respond to RAIs.
• Develop licensing content for Safety Analysis Reports and licensing applications.
• Support planning and executing the X-energy licensing strategy.
• Develop regulatory white papers, technical reports, and licensing topical reports.
• Support development of licensing plans and budgets.
• Maintain quality and support the X-energy safety culture within licensing processes.
