The Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board (LAPELS) seeks a Licensing Analyst Supervisor to oversee the Licensing Division and ensure licensing, renewal, reinstatement, and firm registrations are processed accurately and timely.
Reporting to the Deputy Executive Director, you will supervise Licensing Analyst I and II, manage workloads, and drive improvements in licensing processes while maintaining ethical standards and data-driven decision making.
Mission Statement: The mission of the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board (LAPELS) is to safeguard life, health, and property and to promote the public welfare of the citizens of Louisiana. The Board accomplishes this by licensing and regulating individuals and firms that offer or provide engineering and land surveying services in the state.
The Licensing Analyst Supervisor reports to the Deputy Executive Director and directly supervises Licensing Analyst I and II staff responsible for processing EI, PE, PLS, renewal, reinstatement, and engineering and land surveying firm applications. The position oversees licensing operations to ensure compliance with Louisiana laws, rules, Board policies, and established procedures; exercises independent judgment on complex licensing matters; and works closely with NCEES, other licensing jurisdictions, applicants, licensees, professional organizations, and Enforcement staff. The position is also responsible for staff development, workload management, licensing records and systems, and continuous improvement of licensing processes.
The Licensing Analyst Supervisor will enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and continuity of LAPELS licensing operations while supporting the Board’s responsibility to ensure that applicants and licensees meet all applicable requirements.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Appointment Type: Promotional. Only current, permanent employees of the DOTD/LA Prof Engineering & Land Surveying Board will be considered
Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.
Work Schedule:Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
