Qualifications

  • Three years of experience in the issuance, maintenance, or reinstatement of licenses or a bachelor’s degree as alternative.
  • Experience substitution: 30 semester hours equals one year of experience; max substitution 120 semester hours for four years.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the head resource and first point of contact for statutes, rules, regulations, applications, licensing, license management, renewals, and website assistance.
  • Responsible for administrative and office support functions.
  • Examines and analyzes information submitted by each applicant for licensure accuracy, authenticity, and completeness to determine eligibility and qualification for licensure.
  • Oversees and audits license management functions.
  • Processes license renewals.
  • Assists with Board meeting preparation, inspection management, correspondence, and data recording.
  • Assists with hearing preparation, investigations, and complaints

Mission

The Louisiana Board of Massage Therapy is a regulatory agency whose goal is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public as well as the integrity of the profession by regulating the practice of massage therapy. The Board seeks to ensure that massage therapists meet certain educational levels, comply with ethical and legal standards applicable to the profession, and that massage establishments are in compliance with the laws and rules governing massage establishment operations.

Overview of Role

The Louisiana Board of Massage Therapy is a small office that supports the seven-member Massage Therapy Board. Our office is centrally located in EBRP. LBMT is looking for a Licensing Analyst to join our team. The Licensing Analyst position is a vital part of the regulatory process and offers support for new and current licensees.

  • Follow Policies and Procedures: The ability to follow, reinforce, and maintain compliance with federal and state legal requirements, State Civil Service rules, and organizational policies
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Outlook, Excel
  • Acting with Ethics and Integrity: Have the ability to make choices that reflect ethical standards, integrity, and honesty, regardless of circumstances or personal benefit.
  • Adapting to Change: The ability to demonstrate flexibility in thoughts, behaviors, time management and actions in response to evolving circumstances or unexpected change.
  • Three years of experience in the issuance, maintenance, or reinstatement of licenses; OR
  • Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
  • A bachelor's degree.
  • EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Licensing Analyst 1, 2, or 3.

Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday.

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
