Job summary

City of Largo is seeking a Treatment Plant Operator at all levels to join the Environmental Services team in Largo. This role supports a 24/7 operation and requires shift work, with opportunities for progression from Trainee to A license as vacancies allow.

Responsibilities include process control, chemical dosing, and lab analysis; candidates must pursue Florida licenses and meet safety, regulatory, and operational standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; math/chemistry coursework preferred.
• FDEP approved training for C license or related STEM degree preferred.
• Must obtain State of Florida Class C Wastewater Certification and advance to Operator within two years.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor wastewater treatment processes on assigned shift.
• Perform lab tests and record results accurately.
• Inspect treatment plant equipment and respond to abnormal conditions.
• Read SCADA and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
