Job summary

Sweetwater Care in California seeks an LVN with nursing management experience to supervise day-to-day clinical operations in a long-term care setting. You will ensure orders and policies are followed and care is delivered with dignity.

You will participate in quality improvement, staff education, and patient coordination, while maintaining infection control standards in a dynamic facility environment.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed LVN in California, with a compact license if working in a Compact state.
• One-year prior nursing management experience preferred.
• Long-term care experience required.
• POINT CLICK CARE charting experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Infection Control Manual.
• Participates in implementing the Quality Improvement Program.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for patient identification, placement, and monitoring.
• Notifies other departments of patient changes (room changes, LOA, new admits, discharge).
• Conducts family and patient education.
• Administers medications timely and according to facility policy.
• Administers treatments timely and according to facility policy.
• Receives, transcribes, and carries out physician orders, if allowed by Nurse Practice Act.
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

Objective

Provides nursing care within scope of practice to ensure patient’s needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies and procedures, and state, federal and local guidelines.
