Overview

Veterinary Technician – Surgery at Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Minnesota (AERC), Oakdale, MN 55128. Position Type: Full Time. Salary Range: $22.95 - $29.50 hourly.

Responsibilities

• Assist with surgical procedures and patient preparation
• Support surgeons and the surgical team during procedures
• Assist the anesthesia team with cases
• Provide attentive pre- and post-operative patient care
• Maintain sterile technique and surgical suite readiness
• Communicate clearly with team members to ensure smooth, safe workflows

Essential Physical Functions

• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Lift up to 50 lbs independently; assist with larger patients
• Safely handle and restrain animals of varying sizes and temperaments
• Bend, kneel, and reach throughout the shift
• Use fine motor skills for technical tasks and instrument handling
• Work in a fast-paced environment with noise, odors, and PPE

Qualifications

• Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) preferred, or equivalent experience
