Job summary

Haven Animal Hospital in Grand Haven, MI, is seeking a licensed veterinary technician to assist veterinarians with dental procedures, surgeries, radiographs and client communication. You will help care for patients, operate equipment, and support the team in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The role emphasizes compassion, teamwork, and a strong work ethic, with responsibilities ranging from hospitalized patient care to anesthesia support and lab work.

Qualifications

• Licensed in the LVT program from an accredited school.
• Ability to work with computers and other technology and learn PIMS Software.
• Ability to lift 50lbs or more.
• Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time.
• Team player who is outgoing, positive, energetic, self-motivated and willing to follow procedures and protocols.
• Experience with all labs, diagnostics & treatments.
• Recognize certain behaviors in animals.
• Learn and understand medical terminology and procedures.
• Adapt to the different needs and styles of other technicians and doctors.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Ability to communicate well with others.

Responsibilities

• Manage the care of hospitalized animals & follow up.
• Safely guide a surgery patient from start to finish.
• Perform ear cytologies, fecal cytologies & blood draws.
• Setting IV catheters; vaccine preparation; TPRs; setting up x-ray.
• Assist receptionist in answering phones and passing messages.
