Job summary

Haven Animal Hospital in Grand Haven, MI is seeking a licensed veterinary technician to maintain a positive attitude while assisting veterinarians with dental procedures, surgeries, radiographs and client communications. You will contribute to a compassionate team dedicated to high-quality pet care.

You will manage the care of hospitalized patients, perform cytologies and blood draws, set IV catheters, assist with vaccines and radiographs, and support reception staff in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Licensed in the LVT program from an accredited school.
• Ability to work with computers and learn PIMS Software.
• Ability to lift 50lbs or more and stand for long periods.
• Team player with excellent communication and customer service.
• Willingness to work weekends and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Care for hospitalized animals and follow up.
• Assist veterinarians during surgeries, dental procedures and radiographs.
• Perform ear cytologies, fecal cytologies and blood draws.
• Set IV catheters, prepare vaccines, monitor vitals and set up x-ray.
• Assist receptionist with phones and message handoffs to staff.
