Job summary

Chelsea Animal Hospital in Michigan is seeking a licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our general practice team. The position supports outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry, with a strong emphasis on client communication and high‑quality patient care.

This full‑time role spans exam room and procedure support, anesthesia induction/monitoring, dental prophylaxis and radiography, and meticulous medical record keeping.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of veterinary technician experience.
• Active and good-standing Michigan Licensed Veterinary Technician.
• Proficiency in patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring.
• Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery.
• Surgical assistance and aseptic technique.
• Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography.
• Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement.
• Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing.
• Client education and communication.
• Effective teamwork and professional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows.
• Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.
• Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography.
• Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation.
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately.
• Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital.
• Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service.
