Job summary

NOCO Humane in Colorado is seeking a Veterinary Technician (Registered/Provisional) to provide clinical and administrative support in the Veterinary Services Department. Role includes assisting with surgeries, managing medications, and maintaining records in a shelter setting.

The position requires credentialed technician status, strong communication, and ability to multitask in a busy shelter environment. Weekend shifts and overtime may be needed; benefits and ongoing professional support

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Veterinary Technician program or a Provisional/Registered Veterinary Technician.
• Requires a minimum of one year of animal handling experience in a shelter, clinic, boarding facility, or similar environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists with surgical program including induction and intubation; monitor patients through recovery.
• Maintains medical records; enters data into shelter software; runs reports as needed.
• Performs dental prophy and radiographs; assists veterinarians in dentistry.
• Administers treatments/medications; performs minor procedures such as suture removal.
• Performs basic diagnostic tests; submits tests to lab; may perform euthanasia as assigned.
