Job summary

Heartland Veterinary Partners LLC in Leitchfield is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, labs, and client education.

You will perform patient histories, vital signs, radiographs, nursing duties, and client communication, while maintaining safety and accuracy. This is a full-time, on-site role with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Certified/licensed veterinary technician licensure required.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds; heavier lifts with assistance.
• Follow OSHA safety techniques and PPE.
• Basic computer skills and MS Office familiarity.
• Ability to calculate medication dosages.
• Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in medicine and surgery and other tasks as needed.
• Assist in outpatient exams: taking histories, vital signs, weights, and client education.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vitals during procedures.
• Obtain and process samples; perform in-hospital lab testing.
• Take, develop, and maintain radiographs following safety procedures.
• Provide basic animal handling and restraint during exams.
• Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments.
• Clean and restock exam rooms; keep equipment in good condition.
• Demonstrate warmth, courtesy and professionalism with clients and patients.
• Communicate with veterinarians and team about plans and concerns.
• Any other duties as assigned.
