Job summary

Heartland Veterinary Partners is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians in surgery, anesthesia and patient care. You will assist with exams, collect samples, run in-house tests, and educate clients to ensure high-quality service.

Competitive pay ranges from $28.00 to $35.00 per hour, with health/dental/vision, retirement options, PTO and professional development opportunities. This on-site role emphasizes teamwork and compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician.
• Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; assist with heavier lifts.
• Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE.
• Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety.
• Basic math and ability to calculate medication dosages; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in medicine, surgery and related procedures.
• Take histories, vital signs, weights, and provide client education.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during procedures.
• Obtain samples and perform in-hospital lab testing; prepare specimens.
• Take and maintain radiographs following safety procedures.
• Animal handling and restraining during exams.
• Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines as directed.
• Keep rooms and equipment clean; restock supplies; support team.
