Job summary

Leitchfield Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our mixed-animal hospital in Leitchfield, KY. You will support veterinarians in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, lab work, patient nursing, and client education.

Responsibilities include assisting with exams, preparing for surgery, drawing blood, running labs, taking radiographs, and ensuring high standards of patient care and client communication.

Qualifications

• State license to work as a veterinary technician in the state of employment.
• Able to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds (with assistance for heavier lifts).
• Familiar with OSHA safety techniques and PPE.
• Strong communication skills for patient safety.
• Proficient with basic computer skills and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in medicine and surgery as needed.
• Take histories, vital signs, and weights; educate clients.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor during procedures.
• Collect samples and run in-hospital labs; prep specimens for outside labs.
• Take and maintain radiographs following safety procedures.
• Handle and restrain animals during exams.
