Job summary

United Veterinary Care partner hospital in Brooklyn seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join a four-doctor practice in Carroll Gardens. The successful candidate will provide compassionate nursing care, assist veterinarians, and educate clients while working with a supportive team.

Ideal candidates have an active state license (or are a veterinary technology student) and at least two years of small animal clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a credentialed Veterinary Technician with active state license, or student of an accredited Veterinary Technology program.
• Minimum 2 years’ professional experience in small animal clinical setting.
• Excellent communication with clients and team.
• Proficient in medical math calculations and drug calculations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate nursing care using diagnostic sampling, venipuncture, radiography, dental radiology, and prophylactic cleanings.
• Support veterinarians during preventative, injury and illness visits.
• Educate clients and advocate for patients.
• Assist with anesthesia, surgeries, monitoring, and post-operative care.
• Document health history accurately in the EMR.
• Mentor and support fellow team members.
• Continuously advance knowledge and skills.
