Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Tukwila, WA is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine department. This full-time role supports internists with patient histories, care instructions, and lab results while engaging with clients in person, by phone, and by email.

Responsibilities include anesthesia and phlebotomy, endoscopic and ultrasound assistance, radiology, and discharge education. Eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) required or eligible to obtain license in Washington.
• Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills.
• Experience with endoscopy/ultrasound not required but a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist internal medicine veterinarians with patient histories, lab results, care instructions and client communications.
• Provide anesthesia induction, monitoring and recovery; assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures.

Job description

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine department in Tukwila, WA!

*$5,000 sign-on bonus eligible for qualified candidates!*

Specialty experience not required - open to GP applicants.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 8am-6pm, one holiday a year required.

LVT Pay: $26.75 - $51.32/Hr

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technicians, you are a liaison between our internists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations. Additionally, you will be assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, taking x rays , and obtaining lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required .

As an IM Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc. ).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure .
• Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
• Additional job duties as assigned.
