Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Tukwila, WA is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine department. The LVT will act as a liaison between internists and clients, handling histories, lab results, and care updates, with daily client contact by phone, email, and in person.

The position requires anesthesia proficiency, phlebotomy skills, and the ability to perform complex medical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between internists and clients regarding histories, care instructions, lab results, and updates.
• Set up CRIs and perform medical math (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia; assist ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Assist with endoscopic procedures and handle post-procedure equipment cleaning.
• Discharge patients with basic client education (insulin, SQ fluids, feeding tubes).
• Take X-rays, obtain lab samples, and handle prescriptions when needed.
• Communicate with clients via phone, email, and in person; strong phlebotomy skills required.

Job description

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine department in Tukwila, WA!

LVT Pay: $26.75–$51.32/hr

Shift Differential: Pay differential for eligible hours worked weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4‑hour minimum.

As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician, you will serve as a liaison between our internists and clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, and updates. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculate all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia.
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
• Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
• Assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, taking x‑rays, and obtaining lab samples.
• Client contact via phone, email, and in person conversations.
• Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.
• Additional job duties as assigned.
