BluePearl Pet Hospital in Town Center, VA is seeking a knowledgeable Licensed Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced Internal Medicine department. You will work with a dedicated team, using state-of-the-art diagnostic tools to provide care for pets with complex conditions.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician with valid credentials.
• Experience in internal medicine preferred.
• VTS credentialing eligible.
• Ability to perform anesthesia induction and monitoring.
• Comfort with ultrasound, radiology and endoscopy procedures.
• Ability to communicate with clients.

Responsibilities

• Set up CRIs.
• Calculates medical dosages and math for treatments.
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Discharge IM patients with basic client education (insulin, SQ fluids, feeding tube demonstrations).
• Additional duties as assigned.

** Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience**

Pay:

$20.00 - $40.00 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system.

As a Licensed Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician, you will...

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
• Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
• Additional job duties as assigned.
