Small Door Veterinary in New York City is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. The role includes triaging, recording vitals, assisting doctors, drawing blood, placing catheters, and performing in-house lab work with a focus on compassionate, Fear Free care.

You will work in a high‑standard, stress‑free environment spanning modern facilities and a supportive nurse network, with 24/7 telemedicine and a strong doctor:nurse staffing ratio.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a LVT in a GP setting.
• Availability to work weekends (Saturday or Sunday).
• Comfortable with computers and online tools.
• Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs.
• Strong team player and fast-paced environment adaptability.
• Excellent client communication.
• Passionate about pets.

Responsibilities

• Triaging
• Knowledge and ability to recognize medical emergencies and illnesses
• Assessing patients
• Recording vitals and assisting doctors with diagnostics
• Completing treatments as instructed by the doctor
• Basic husbandry and nursing care
• Monitoring changes in patients and providing compassionate care
• Taking blood
• Placing catheters
• Assisting in and facilitating radiography capture
• Preparing samples for outside reference labs
• Running in-house labs
• Preparing medications
• Administering medications
