Job summary

Animal Humane Society in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our veterinary clinic team. You will provide skilled nursing care, assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and client education in a collaborative setting.

You will document medical records, communicate treatment plans, and support patients and clients with compassionate care. Eligibility requires Minnesota licensure and a commitment to animal welfare and high-quality

Qualifications

• Current veterinary technician license in good standing, or ability to obtain Minnesota licensure prior to employment.
• Completion of education and qualifications to practice as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in Minnesota.
• Knowledge of veterinary medical technology, procedures, patient care, and safety practices.
• Ability to perform veterinary technical skills within the scope of practice for a Licensed Veterinary Technician.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled veterinary nursing care under veterinarian direction, including exams, diagnostics, anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and client education.
• Safely handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures; monitor vital signs and document changes.
• Collect samples, administer medications, vaccines, fluids, and injections as directed.
• Assist with surgical procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and recovery; maintain medical records.
• Educate clients on disease processes, medications, wellness, and home care; communicate treatment plans to clients.
