Job summary

North Country Veterinary Clinic in Grand Rapids, MN is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or LVT-Eligible candidate to join our compassionate team. You will assist veterinarians with medical history, diagnostics, surgeries, vaccines, and client education while maintaining high patient care standards.

Responsibilities include anesthesia, radiography, nursing care, imaging, and post-discharge guidance.

Qualifications

Current Minnesota Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) license in good standing or LVT-Eligible: Former CVT actively pursuing Minnesota state LVT licensure.

Responsibilities

Obtain and record thorough patient histories and perform routine laboratory testing.
Restrain animals safely and compassionately during examinations and procedures.
Dispense and administer prescribed medications, vaccines, serums and fluids; provide nursing care.
Take and process digital diagnostic and dental radiographs.
Prepare patients, instruments, and equipment for procedures.
Administer and monitor anesthesia under veterinarian supervision.
Ensure monitoring and support equipment are calibrated and functional.
Educate clients on preventative care and home care after procedures.
Instruct clients on post-discharge care and medication administration.
Perform follow-up calls for post-surgical patients.
