Job summary

The ASPCA’s Community Veterinary Clinic (CM) offers high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter and preventive care to underserved communities. CM technicians work closely with veterinarians, providing medical duties, outpatient care, and occasional surgery assistance within our NYC area clinics.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, teamwork, and adherence to CM SOPs, with opportunities for professional growth and ongoing education support.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited veterinary technology program or equivalent per NYS Education Department.
• Current New York State Veterinary Technician License or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Surgery/Anesthesia experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for 35–40 cats and dogs per day in spay/neuter surgery.
• Administer injections, anesthetics, vaccines, and medications.
• Monitor vital signs and provide treatments per SOPs.
• Maintain patient records and logs for controlled substances.
• Assist with client communication and education.
