Job summary

MedVet is seeking a State Registered Veterinary Technician to join our emergency and specialty care team. This fast-paced ER role requires strong clinical skills and the ability to multitask while delivering high-quality patient care.

Shift is 4:00 PM–2:00 AM in a rotating Week A/Week B schedule. You will perform rounds, triage patients, assist DVM, monitor anesthesia, run in-house labs, and educate clients.

Qualifications

• State-registered veterinary technician license required.
• Prior veterinary experience required; previous emergency experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, CRIs, unit conversions, etc.)
• Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessary
• Evaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessment
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns
• Provide client education including home care instructions, medications and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing

We are looking for:

Licensed Veterinary Technician

What you’ll do:

Compensation:

This position has an initial hiring range of $24.00 to $40.00 per hour based on skillset and experience.

We support our caregivers with lucrative shift differentials:

-Hours worked between 8pm and 11:59pm = base pay + $2/hour

-Hours worked between 12am to 7:59am = base pay + $3/hour

-Hours worked on Weekends (day or night) = base pay +$1/hour + any applicable differential
