MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets in Campbell, CA is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Technician for evening shifts. You will join a fast-paced ER team delivering critical nursing care and patient management in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include triage, rounds, client education, anesthesia monitoring, and lab work, with strong emphasis on teamwork and patient welfare. California RVT license preferred and prior emergency experience desired.

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred.
• Prior veterinary experience required; emergency experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, dosages, conversions) and accurate record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds and discuss cases with the care team.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Collaborate with the patient care team on treatment plans and nursing care.

Emergency Veterinary Technician - Evenings

Proposed Schedule:

Sunday- Wednesday 8:30pm-7am

Compensation:

The hiring range for this position is $28.25 - $44.00/hour based on skillset and experience. We support our evening caregivers with lucrative shift differentials:

• Hours worked between 8pm-11:59pm = base pay +$4/hour
• Hours worked between 12am-8am = base pay +$6/hour
• Hours worked on Saturday and Sunday (day or night) = base pay + $3/hour + any applicable differentials.

Whatyou’lldo:

• Record and deliver organized rounds,discusscasesandgatheradditionalinformation as necessary
• Evaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessment
• Partner withpatient care teamregardingtreatment plans, clientcommunicationand nursing care concerns
• Provide client education including, but not limitedto:home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions)and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients
• Assist DVM with patient assessment,treatmentand procedures
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
• Induce andmonitorgeneral anesthesiaandsedation procedures
• Perform in-house laboratory testingandprepare samples for outside laboratory testing

Who you are:

• State Registered Veterinary Technician licensepreferred
• Prior veterinary experiencerequired,previousemergencyexperience desired
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
• Flexibility with work hours and able to workadditionalhours when necessary
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
