Job summary

MedVet is seeking a Contingent Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our emergency team. You will evaluate, monitor, and care for hospitalized patients, assist DVM, and provide client education.

The role offers pay from $24 to $40 per hour with attractive shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends; flexibility in a fast-paced ER; license required; prior emergency experience preferred.

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license required.
• Prior veterinary experience, especially in emergency settings.
• Proficient in calculations for drugs, dosing, and CRIs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases, and gather information as necessary.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education including home care, medications, and wellness updates.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside lab testing.

We are looking for:

Contingent Licensed Veterinary Technician

Shift: Will be on an as needed basis to fill shifts when needed.

What you’ll do:

Who you are:

• State Registered Veterinary Technician licenserequired

• Flexibility with work hours and able to workadditionalhours when necessaryAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Compensation:

This position has an initial hiring range of $24.00 to $40.00 per hour based on skillset and experience.

We support our caregivers with lucrative shift differentials:

• -Hours worked between 8pm and 11:59pm = base pay + $2/hour
• -Hours worked between 12am to 7:59am = base pay + $3/hour
• -Hours worked on Weekends (day or night) = base pay +$1/hour + any applicable differential
