Job summary

Destination Pet LLC is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician for North Shore Animal Hospital in Bayside, NY. You will be encouraged to work at the top of your license and act as a clinical leader ensuring compassionate, high-quality patient care.

You will perform anesthesia, dentistry, diagnostics, and nursing tasks with a focus on teamwork, ongoing education, and leadership development. Competitive pay, career ladder, and generous benefits are offered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead anesthesia, analgesia, monitoring, and recovery.
  • Perform dentistry including radiography and periodontal therapy.
  • Conduct diagnostics with in-house lab work and imaging.
  • Provide nursing, triage, and care coordination for patients.
  • Lead tech appointments, mentor assistants, and support staff.

Wage Range: $28.00 - $34.00 /hr.

$1,500 Signing Bonus.

Your Role - Clinical Driver & Leader

As a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), you will be encouraged to work at the top of your license and serve as a clinical leader, ensuring medical excellence with a patient-first mindset. We follow AAHA utilization guidance consistently. You will primarily utilize your skills in:

  • Anesthesia & Analgesia: Full IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.
  • Dentistry: Full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy (per DVM direction).
  • Diagnostics: High-quality radiography/positioning, in-house lab analysis, and sample collection.
  • Nursing & Triage: Critical patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and managing catheters/feeding tubes.
  • Workflow Leadership: Leading tech appointments, team huddles, and mentoring assistants/externs.

Schedule: Full-time with flexible scheduling options (choose 4 ten-hour or 5 eight-hour shifts) and a predictable weekend rotation.
