Destination Pet – Story Road Animal Hospital in Irving, TX is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician. You will practice at the top of your license, lead clinical care, and support a team dedicated to patient-first outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Texas Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) license.
• Experience working as an LVT in a clinical setting is preferred.
• Demonstrates commitment to high-quality patient care and safety.

Responsibilities

• Anesthesia & analgesia: IV catheterization, pain management, induction, monitoring.
• Dentistry: full-mouth radiography, charting, periodontal therapy under DVM direction.
• Diagnostics: radiography, in-house lab work, sample collection.
• Nursing & triage: monitor patients, advanced wound care, manage catheters.
• Workflow leadership: lead tech appointments, run team huddles, mentor assistants.

Your Role – Clinical Driver & Leader

As a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), you will be encouraged to work at the top of your license and serve as a clinical leader, ensuring medical excellence with a patient-first mindset. We follow AAHA utilization guidance consistently.

• Anesthesia & Analgesia: Full IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.
• Dentistry: Full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy (per DVM direction).
• Diagnostics: High-quality radiography/positioning, in-house lab analysis, and sample collection.
• Nursing & Triage: Critical patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and managing catheters/feeding tubes.
• Workflow Leadership: Leading tech appointments, team huddles, and mentoring assistants/externs.

Schedule: Full-time with flexible scheduling options (choose 4 ten-hour or 5 eight-hour shifts) and a predictable weekend rotation.
