Job summary

Animal Humane Society is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide skilled nursing care under veterinarians' direction, supporting exams, diagnostics, anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and client education. Work collaboratively with the veterinary team to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care in line with medical standards and AHS policies.

Qualifications

• Current veterinary technician license in good standing, Minnesota licensure prior to employment.
• Knowledge of veterinary medical technology, procedures, safety practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced veterinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient histories, weights, temperatures, and vital signs.
• Safely restrain animals during examinations and procedures.
• Assist with surgery, anesthesia, dental radiographs, and recovery.
• Maintain medical records and communicate treatment plans to clients.
• Provide client education on medications and aftercare.
• Fill prescriptions and document controlled substances per DEA policies.
