Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Pittsburgh (North Hills) is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician for our busy Internal Medicine department. The role includes anesthesia for imaging, phlebotomy, radiography, and client communication. Schedule features four 10-hour shifts with rotating Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician in good standing
• Experience in veterinary internal medicine preferred
• VTS credentialing eligible for compensation based on experience

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between internal medicine veterinarians and clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, updates and other topics.
• Perform anesthesia and sedation for CT scans, Endoscopy, and Ultrasound-guided procedures.
• Carry out digital radiography with proper sedation and restraint/positioning.
• Calculate medical math and administer medications via appropriate routes and durations.
• Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters.
• Assist with endoscopic procedures and set up/maintain equipment.
• Discharge patients with client education on treatments and home care.
• Mentor and train co-workers; provide compassionate client communication.
