Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Katy, TX seeks a knowledgeable Veterinary Technician for the Internal Medicine department. The role involves coordinating with internists and clients, performing anesthesia, phlebotomy, and imaging, plus assisting with endoscopic procedures.

The candidate will set up CRIs, monitor anesthesia, perform ultrasound and X-ray prep, and ensure proper discharge education for owners. Schedule is 4 days per week with rotating Mondays and Fridays.

Qualifications

• Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.
• Assists with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures and diagnostic imaging.
• Liaises with internists and clients about patient history and care instructions.

Responsibilities

• Set up continuous rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates medical math including CRI, mcg/mg, %/mg.
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Assist with endoscopic procedures and maintain equipment.
• Discharge IM patients with client education (insulin, fluids, feeding tubes).
• Additional duties as assigned.
