Job summary

Loadstar is seeking a Tankerman in the Port Arthur, TX area to serve as the person-in-charge for cargo transfers on barge operations under USCG regulations. You will supervise vessel transfers, perform pre-transfer inspections, and coordinate with dock facilities while working on a 24/7 call schedule.

Applicants must hold a current USCG license and medical card, a TWIC, and a valid driver’s license, with the ability to travel to job sites and work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must hold current and valid USCG licensing and medical cards.
• TWIC and Driver's License required.
• Reliable transportation and ability to work on-call including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Person-In-Charge of the vessel for cargo transfers per USCG rules.
• Perform mooring, pre-transfer inspections, and valve operations safely.
• Travel to job locations as required and communicate with Marine Logistics.
• Develop cargo transfer plans and conduct pre-transfer risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance, safety, and Stop Work Authority when needed.
• Inspect and adjust barge mooring lines during transfers.
• Prepare barge for departure by securing valves and openings.
