Job summary

Loadstar is seeking a Tankerman to serve as the Person-In-Charge during cargo transfers on barges. The role requires current US Coast Guard licensing and TWIC credentials, plus the ability to work on-call across days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

You will perform pre-transfer inspections, cargo transfer planning, and vessel communications to ensure safe operations. This position includes comprehensive benefits and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Must hold Coast Guard license and TWIC credential.
• Driver's license required; reliable transportation.
• Fluent English (spoken and written) and ability to work on-call.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Person-In-Charge of the vessel for cargo transfers per USCG and company requirements.
• Perform pre-transfer inspections and risk assessments; open/close valves as needed.
• Maintain communication with Marine Logistics Coordinator and report unsafe conditions.
• Travel to job locations as required and ensure proper use of PPE.
• Oversight of mooring lines and barge valve operations during transfers.
