Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid US Coast Guard Chief Engineer license and STCW training.
  • Extensive knowledge of US Coast Guard regulations.
  • Ability to supervise vessel engineering crew.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Medical clearance per US Coast Guard requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance, operations, and repair of all systems aboard the vessel.
  • Manage engine room staff and supervise watch rotation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Master and shore management on status and issues.
  • Direct emergency repairs and vessel inspections.
