  • Employees should expect frequent travel and may be required to stay overnight for several days or multiple weeks at a time depending on project location and duration.
  • MARS Energy provides travel accommodation in accordance with company policy. Depending on project location and travel distance, employees may qualify for company paid lodging, per diem, and/or mileage reimbursement.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to travel extensively throughout the Midwest and work away from home for extended periods when required by project needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Travel to project sites throughout Illinois and the Midwest region as required to support utility-scale solar, C&I solar, and BESS construction projects.
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical components and systems in accordance with National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations.
  • Perform wiring, conduit installation, panel mounting, and terminations for solar PV systems.
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting to ensure the integrity and safety of electrical systems and components.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure all installations meet MARS quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other trades and project teams to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
  • Mentor apprentices and less experienced electricians, ensuring they adhere to company safety and performance standards.
  • Adhere to all company and industry safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Report and sign off on apprentice OJT (on the job training) hours to the electrical superintendent.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
