Job summary

Mars Energy Development is seeking licensed traveling electricians to lead on-site execution for utility-scale solar, C&I solar, and BESS projects across the Midwest. You will travel extensively, install and troubleshoot electrical systems, read schematics, and mentor apprentices while upholding NEC and safety standards.

Preferred candidates hold a Journeyman license with strong knowledge of NEC and OSHA 1926 standards, capable of working in varied conditions and lifting heavy materials.

Qualifications

• Journeyman license or equivalent required.
• Advanced classroom training of electrical theory and code required.
• OSHA 10/30 certification strongly preferred.
• High school diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Travel to project sites across Illinois and the Midwest to support solar and BESS projects.
• Install, repair and maintain electrical components per NEC and local regs.
• Perform wiring, conduit, panel mounting and terminations for PV systems.
• Test and troubleshoot to ensure safety and integrity of systems.
• Read electrical schematics, blueprints and technical specs.
• Ensure installations meet quality and safety standards.
• Collaborate with trades and project teams for timely completion.
• Mentor apprentices and enforce safety/performance standards.
• Follow lockout/tagout and safety protocols; sign off apprentice hours.
